Lookouts

During your stay, we highly recommend exploring the captivating lookouts along the escarpment. You can choose to visit one or two per day, or plan an extended walk to take in several of these incredible viewpoints. For a convenient and breathtaking experience, Cahllis Lookout is just a short walk from the cottage and offers the perfect spot to enjoy a stunning sunset after a delightful dinner.


Cahill's Lookout

1.1km from Cottage, 16min walk or a 3-minute drive.

This hidden gem is a lesser-known lookout, offering distant vistas of the Megalong Valley and the ranges beyond. It's the perfect spot for witnessing a breathtaking sunset. While it can get a bit busy, there are multiple viewing platforms that ensure you'll have a great view of the valley. 


Eagle Hawk Lookout

1.1km from Cottage, 15min walk or a 3min drive.

This lookout is located on Cliff Road just beyond Scenic World, it offers spectacular views of the valley and the Three Sisters. The only downside is limited parking on the narrow road. For a more convenient visit, consider a short walk from our cosy cottage, bypassing the parking challenge.


Echo Point Lookout

2.5km from Cottage, 35min walk or a 5min drive

The Katoomba area's largest lookout, easily accessible and offering a phenomenal view across the Blue Mountains, particularly the Three Sisters, is a must-visit. Consider taking one of the nearby tracks for a unique perspective. Don't miss the on-site gift shop. While parking is available in surrounding streets at a cost of around $8.00 per hour, you can find free parking with just a 10 to 15-minute walk away for a more budget-friendly option.



Landslide Lookout

1km from Cottage and approximately 15min walk

The lookout is s short and easy walk from the road (with roadside parking available) leads you through a bush trail to the cliff's edge.Stand on the cliff and enjoy the stunning views and a humbling sense of the vast landscape stretching out before you.


Narrowneck Lookout

550m from Cottage, 7 min walk or 1min drive.

This lesser-known viewpoint provides captivating vistas of the Narrow Neck Peninsula, a vast plateau that separates the Megalong Valley from the Jamison Valley. It serves as the starting point for the Narrow Neck Plateau Track, accessible from Cliff Rd on Glenraphael Drive, which, in turn, opens the door to numerous other remarkable walks and hikes in the area.
